Since 2003, Madraigos has provided a wide range of supportive services to the Jewish community. These include a number of youth programs, as one of the organization’s primary goals is to help teens and young adults navigate challenges and achieve fulfilling, productive lives. Madraigos’ youth programs include holiday retreats, which offer a welcoming community environment for disadvantaged youth to celebrate Jewish holy days. Members have the opportunity to spend Rosh Hashanah at a luxury hotel, where they can enjoy resort amenities while taking part in spiritually enriching prayer services and classes. For Yom Kippur, Madraigos matches youths with homes throughout the Jewish community so that they may observe the holiday in an intimate family environment.
Madraigos’ youth services also include the Lounge, a drop-in center that serves as a safe, nurturing location for teens to interact. Supervised by Madraigos staff and social workers, the Lounge offers a place for adolescents to meet with friends, enjoy meals, and take part in various social activities. It provides an opportunity for Madraigos to encourage positive relationships and goal-oriented communication among its members, creating an environment of respect and validation.
Beyond holiday events and the Lounge, Madraigos offers a variety of other youth resources throughout the year. These include an annual Super Bowl party, barbecues, hiking trips, and numerous additional opportunities for social and personal development.
