During the 2014-2015 season, Chicago Bears safety Ryan Mundy secured a career high of four interceptions, starting in all 16 games of his first season with the team. On Saturday, May 30, he partnered with former NFL receiver Steve Breaston to help younger players hone their skills during a free football clinic in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania. Open to boys and girls aged 8 to 13, the fifth annual Breaston-Mundy Youth Clinic took place at Turtle Creek Stadium, where the two athletes played together during their time at Woodland Hills High School. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., they introduced participants to football fundamentals, giving back to the community in which they launched their athletic careers.
Describing football as “a rallying point” for the community, Mundy noted that the Woodland Hills School District had long supported his and Breaston’s careers and described the clinic as a valuable opportunity to “give back in the community, get involved and come out here and have everyone participate and have a good day.” A native of Pittsburgh, Mundy played four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as one season with the New York Giants, before joining the Chicago Bears. He will kick off his second season with the team on September 13, as the Bears take on the rival Green Bay Packers in Chicago.
